Sue Atkinson

Sue is the Headteacher at John Taylor Free School. She has worked in education for the last 30 years with experience of a wide range of schools and different settings.

Her extensive leadership experience spans 3 highly successful Multi-Academy Trusts based in the East/West Midlands. She has established a Teaching School Alliance and School Centre for Initial Teacher Training and understands the importance of professional learning for teachers and leaders. 

Her leadership specialisms include the use of coaching cultures to support both wellbeing and enhanced performance as a teacher and leader.  Sue has worked extensively on the National Professional Qualifications, facilitating and coaching at all levels, including the NPQEL.  She is a genuine advocate for developing people as the key driver for school improvement.

Jennifer Surujpaul

Jennifer Surujpaul is the founder of IT Solutionist, a consultancy specialising in digital strategy and IT transformation in Trusts and Schools. With over 25 years of experience supporting staff locally and internationally across primary, secondary, and SEND settings, she helps organisations embed impactful technologies, streamline operations, and build confident digital cultures. Jennifer is passionate about making tools like AI accessible and meaningful for all educators.

An innovative IT Solutionist and entrepreneur, Jennifer is dedicated to helping schools and Trusts maximise the value of their IT investments. Her work spans digital audits, subscription reviews, cyber and information security planning, and targeted training that empowers staff at every level. She works closely with leadership teams to align digital initiatives with broader organisational goals, ensuring that transformation is not only strategic, but sustainable.

As the founder of her own business, Jennifer has supported digital change across a wide range of educational settings, combining her technical expertise with a deep understanding of the school environment. She designs and delivers bespoke training programmes that strengthen stakeholder engagement and support meaningful cultural change. Her approach integrates policy development, data analysis, and change management to create systems that are agile, efficient, and fit for the future.

Claudia Boerescu

Claudia Boerescu is the Director of Teaching and Learning at Newham College, where she leads institution-wide strategies to improve teaching quality, foster innovation, and promote evidence-informed practice. With extensive experience across both further and higher education, Claudia has worked as a senior lecturer, academic liaison, programme lead, and educational leader, playing a key role in curriculum development, teacher education, and whole-organisation improvement.

A passionate educator and mentor, Claudia has designed and delivered high-impact teacher education programmes that have supported trainees and staff to achieve outstanding outcomes. She is deeply committed to creating learning environments where experimentation is encouraged, reflective practice is embedded, and professional growth is continuous.

Claudia's work is rooted in the belief that effective teaching and learning relies on a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and purposeful development. Through her leadership at Newham College, she champions high standards while ensuring space for creativity, innovation, and responsive change across the curriculum.

Nicola Holland

Nicola is an experienced education leader with a deep-rooted passion for teaching, learning, and professional development. Since joining Billing Brook, a SEND school in Northamptonshire for pupils aged 4-18, in September 2009 as a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT), they have held a variety of impactful roles including Literacy Coordinator for over a decade, Assistant Head, and Lead across primary, secondary, and sixth form phases.

Currently serving as the Quality of Education Lead, they are responsible for driving whole-school improvement in teaching and learning. For the past 4–5 years, they have also led Continuing Professional Development (CPD), championing high-quality training and mentoring for staff at all levels. A trained OLEVI Power of Coaching facilitator and dedicated mentor, they are committed to fostering a culture of growth and reflection.

Their core belief is simple yet powerful: every day is a chance to learn - for both pupils and staff alike.

Debi Saunders

Debi Saunders is the Senior Quality & Compliance Officer at York College, bringing with her over 40 years of experience in the education sector. Across her career, including 36 years as a teacher and 6 years in quality roles, Debi has developed a deep understanding of how to support staff, improve processes, and embed quality practice across an organisation. At York College, she leads on the use of CollegeiP, guiding colleagues in aligning objectives, evidence, and improvement activities.

Debi shares how York College is evolving its Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) to become more than a compliance exercise. By setting up QIP objectives so that every team member can contribute activities and evidence, the college is creating a more inclusive and collaborative approach. This shift places staff at the heart of the QIP process, making it part of their day-to-day experience rather than a separate or imposed task.

Although this approach is still in its early stages, Debi will highlight emerging examples of its impact, from increasing engagement with QIP objectives to strengthening ownership of quality across teams. 

Mats Rosenkvist

Mats is an entrepreneur with a background in sales and marketing communications, bringing over 30 years of international experience in education and EdTech as co-founder of Kunskapsmedia and InfoMentor. He is also the founder of BravoLesson, an initiative dedicated to helping teachers grow professionally and enjoy greater job satisfaction. Guided by research and best practice, Mats believes that every teacher, with practice and feedback, can become a better teacher than they were yesterday. Through Successful Schools Sweden, he offers BRAVOLesson and a knowledge hub focused on lesson observations and collaborative learning, powerful tools proven to enhance both teaching quality and student learning outcomes.

He is also the founder of Successful Schools Sweden, which focuses on helping teachers grow professionally and enjoy greater job satisfaction. Central to this work is BRAVOLesson and a knowledge hub for lesson observations and collaborative learning, tools based on research showing that structured feedback and reflection are among the most powerful ways to improve teaching quality and student outcomes.

Passionate about school development rooted in research and best practice, Mats believes every teacher, with the right support, can continue to grow and positively impact student learning.

Vilborg Einarsdottir

Vilborg is a visionary leader with a unique blend of academic excellence and business expertise, bringing extensive experience from both the education and sustainability sectors. She is the Founder and Managing Director of BravoEarth, an innovative software solution that helps organisations embed sustainability into their business practices. BravoEarth is designed in alignment with the new European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), with a particular focus on Impact, Risk, and Opportunity management (DMA).

Previously, Vilborg served as CEO of InfoMentor, an award-winning school management system recognised across multiple countries for its impact on improving teaching, learning, and school leadership. Her contributions to education and business have earned her significant recognition, including being honored with the Icelandic Order of the Falcon and being named among the “Top 18 – The Brightest Business Minds in Northern Europe.”

Through BravoEarth, Vilborg continues to merge innovation with purpose, empowering organisations to approach sustainability not only as a compliance challenge but as a strategic opportunity to create lasting positive impact.

Margaret Hunnaball

Margaret has over 35 years of experience as a physics teacher, alongside senior leadership roles in both state-maintained and independent secondary schools. Her final post was as Principal Deputy at King’s College School, Wimbledon, part of the Wimbledon ISSP. She recently completed a PhD at King’s College London, funded by the ESRC, where her research focused on cross-sector educational partnerships, reflecting her strong interest in collaboration, leadership, and holistic education beyond the classroom.

As S.P.A.’s Researcher in Residence, Margaret brings together her extensive classroom and leadership experience with academic research, contributing valuable insights into education both in the UK and internationally.

Beyond education, Margaret is deeply involved in hockey. A former International Hockey Federation (FIH) umpire, she now serves on the FIH Pro League Panel for Umpire Managers, the European Hockey Federation Appointments Committee, and the FIH Rules Committee.
